Gerra

Description: Pisa estannífera amb llustre platejat exterior i vora interior. Pasta vermellosa fosca. Gerra de cos globular sobre peanya, coll cilíndric de perfil recte i boca circular amb abocador de bec. Ansa lateral. Presenta decoració floral i vegetal i motius geomètrics al coll.

Reasoned classification: Aquest model de gerres són de les manufactures angleses d´Staffordshire del començament del segle XIX i es manufacturen seguint el principi de la impressió litogràfica. Una vegada traçat en llapis el disseny sobre la ceràmica vidriada, s´omplia aquest contorn amb una capa de cola. Quan estava sec, el recipient es banyava dins la solució llustrant fins a la vora, i la vora es banyava posant el recipient boca avall. Una vegada sec, s´eliminava la cola i es posava al forn, i el disseny sortia del color del recipient. En aquest cas un vidriat de color blanc a causa de l´estany. La major part de llustre resistent es va fer en plata.
