Visit to the excavation of the gate of the wall in the castle of Santa Àgueda
We invite you to participate in a guided tour of the excavations and consolidation of the door located in the wall of the Castle of Santa Àgueda. The aim of this is to find out on the ground the results of the latest interventions in the Islamic site promoted by the Island Council of Menorca.
During the excursion, we will have the opportunity to visit the sector known as the "House of Arms" to discover the new access gate recently located, a find that provides a new look at the history and defensive organization of the castle. We will also learn about the restoration and conservation actions that have made it possible to preserve this valuable historical heritage.
A unique experience to delve into the Islamic past of Menorca, enjoy the exceptional landscape of Santa Àgueda and understand the importance of preserving one of the most emblematic heritage spaces on the island.
The visit will be carried out by Carlos de Salort, archaeologist and Jesús Cardona, architect, technical directors of the intervention.
