Tintinnabulum: music, theater and tasting in ancient Rome
With this activity, the Museum offers a unique opportunity to live an experience around the music and theater of ancient Rome through experimental archaeology and scenic recreation by the Tintinabulum group.
Tintinabulum is an experimental archaeology and heritage dissemination group dedicated to the study of music and theatre in ancient Rome. Her research draws on iconographic sources and classical texts—paintings, mosaics, sculptures, and classical authors—to reconstruct how the performing arts sounded, moved, and performed in the Roman world.
The proposal combines historical explanation, live music, theater and dance. The public discovers recreated ancient instruments such as the aulos, the scabellum or the cymbals, as well as the role of music, dance and masks in Roman rituals, shows and comedies.
It is a commented staging that immerses attendees in the mythology, humour and beliefs of classical Rome, offering an informative experience that combines research, heritage and the performing arts.
To finish we will have a small Roman appetizer.
