Fabiols and fabiolers, a key figure in the festivities of Menorca

In this very special talk, the young speaker will share the study he conducted after witnessing his best friend's debut as a fabioler from Sant Climent up close.

Inspired by the experience and drawn to the musical challenge, he decided to focus his Baccalaureate Research Project (TRB) on the figure of the fabioler, which combined two of his great passions: music and menorcan festivities. As a future History student, it was also an excellent opportunity to begin historical research. The result of this work, "Fabiols and fabiolers: Past and Present of a Key Figure in the Festivities of Menorca", has been awarded one of the research prizes for high school students by the UIB Board of Trustees for 2024-2025.

The talk will be given by Lluriac Ferrer Alfocea, a violin student at the Conservatory of Music of the Balearic Islands and a History undergraduate at the University of the Balearic Islands.

Activity co-organized with the Professional Conservatory of Music and Dance of the Balearic Islands.
