Excursion to the Ferreries Cement Plant

On this occasion, a lesser-known but essential part of our recent past will be discovered: the island's industrial heritage. The visit will take us to the old cement plant located in Sa Marineta, near Ferreries, a space that is still preserved as a living testimony of the production processes that marked Menorca in the twentieth century.

The itinerary will allow us to get closer to the history, architecture and social context of this industrial facility, reflecting on its role in the economic and territorial development of the island.

The excursion will be led by Joan Lluís Torres Faner, architect and researcher, who will provide an expert and informative perspective by analysing its relationship with the territory, the landscape and collective memory, as well as the debates that are still generated today around industrial heritage.
